Default Dog Ate my seat

i went out for the day yesterday. my dog who has severe separation anxiety escaped his kennel and decided he would eat the seat of my 86 marathon. i know i can buy new completed seats but i just want the foam. i found the foam cushion for a 1989-1994 marathon but not a 1986. i thought the seats were the same. will the foam for an 89 work for me ? or do i have to fork out the cash for the new seat set. or better yet does anyone have a seat for sale . the seat backs are fine i just need the seat bottom.

Back in the day we used foam from discarded sofas to repair old cart seats. Vinyl can be had at the local sewing shop. All you need is scissors and a stapler. You can make patches in the foam cushion too, no need for the whole thing.
That's not the first seat a dog or a cow ate.

I purchased a chunk of appolstry foam and cut the damaged area to make a good flat surface with an electric carving knife. The used a foam grade adhiesive spray to connect the chunk of foam to the damaged area. After it was solid, I took the electric knife and trimmed to match the old profile of the seat and recovered. Still working great. Make sure you do a nice trim job as it does not take much to see once you stretch the cover over.
