Gas marathon weight?
Ordered a trailer and want to let the builder know roughly the weight of my cart.... for ramp gate specs. Anyone have an idea? Miner's an 84.

Figure 700lbs. with driver and full tank.I'm pretty sure the carts are about 400+,without fuel.

Re: Gas marathon weight?
I've got marathons, remember yours has well over 100lbs of motor in it.My opposed weighs 120 by itself.A stock Marathon 2-stroke is somewhere in the 400-500 range.

Re: Gas marathon weight?
I would have to disagree. The difference between a 2-stroke and a big block is not even close to 400-500 pounds. My Vanguard probably weighs less than 50 pounds more than a stock 2-stroke motor.
You said the carts are about 400 pounds without fuel. Where am I getting the extra 500 pounds? |

Re: Gas marathon weight?
You can't equally compare a stock cart to a modified one.All the extras add weight.Lift-kit,larger tires, different motor,accessories,etc...they add up quick.I know my dump box is a good 40 or more with the Mount,my rear bumper atleast 30,it all keeps adding.I'm not gonna argue about it,but I'm real sure a stock Marathon 2-stroke won't break ever 600 full of oil/gas.If it did I'd really be surprised, since I man-handle carts all the time, and I know what I can lift.

Well, 400-900 lbs! I will tell them 1000 lbs. I'll add 100 lbs soon with roll cage and electrical, etc.

According to the manual, a gas EZGO TXT is 679 pounds with a plastic body. The earlier carts(Marathons) were metal bodies, and over-engineered supports/frames. That adds alot of weight. |

Re: Gas marathon weight?
I guess I've been shoving them around for too long, they don't feel anywhere near that!!I load them sideways on my trailer to fit more, and I lift them up and spin them sideways over the upper-rails of the trailer, alot of times from the rear.
