Default TXT smoking bad and not running good

Hi, I'm new to this forum, but not forums in general. I am active over at the f150 forum with the same user name. Anyways here's my problem
Ok so my grandparents have this ez go golf cart, and my cousin (who is 17 and thinks he can wok on engines) got a hold of it to "fix" it. Well he ended up putting 6 courts of oil in when it old calls for 3 and accidentally put about 2 cups of diesel fuel in. This was last summer so since then I have rebuilt the carb, changed the oil, and put fresh gas in, but it's still smoking really really bad. When it does run it over heats, and you have to choke it bad. I'm going back up to my grandparents later this week and I'm probably gonna pull the engine and see what's up with it. But what do you guys think the issue could be? I bought new spark plugs, some gasket paper, and some RVT sealant, but I'm afraid the rings are shot.

Btw it's a ez txt with a 4 stroke 2 cylinder robin's engine. Also how do you set the valve timing on these engines? I have never worked on one of these before. Do they have an overhead cam?

It holds 1.5 quarts, drain and refill, what's happening when overfull
it's sucking oil into the carburetor from the crankcase vent tube.

yes overhead cam and timing is usually good but don't hurt to adjust valves.

I for got to mention that the vent tube is cracked in half and is spraying out a mix of gas and oil when it runs.

How hard is it to adjust the timing and valves. I'm gonna take the hold thing apart so I might as well do it while I'm in there. Is there a rebuild wright up some where? All the ones I have found are for the single cylinder 2 strokes? And what weight oil does it take?

Thanks

Could someone give me a little heads up to what I might have to deal with when I pull this thing apart? How hard are the motors to get out? Is there anything specific I need to know about this model engine? How hard are they going work on? Anything I should avoid/look out for?

With all them questions, sounds like you should leave it alone.

Listen carefully, it holds "1.5 quarts of oil", not 6 not 3, drain and refill.
Pull the plugs, spin it over a few times, put the plugs back in and see if it will run.

Here is a link to the engine service manual. It should answer your questions.

Well this is my first time working on a golf cart engine, but I have rebuilt Ford 5.4 and 4.6 motors in the past. Those are completely different animals tho. I just like to get things done right the first time that's why I had all the questions.

Haha ok I guess I'm overly stressing about this thing then it can't be to hard. It's not really my cart cause it's my grandparents, but it already runs like horse carp so I guess it's ok haha

Thanks for all the help guys.

One more thing I forget to add. This hunting season it was smoking badly but we were still driving it, then all the sudden it was like a smoke grenade went off and it died. We towed it back to the house with the ATV and it hasn't moved since December
