If you cut the pipe or muffler, then realize it's too loud, you'll figure out a muffer for one of these can be VERY expensive. Good Luck!
I run a pretty loud exhaust on my truck so I'm used to some noise, but if it is to loud (and or sounds like carp) couldn't I just go up to auto zone and get a 30 dollar muffler in 1 1/2 inch pipe (or worse case order one). Cause there is no way I'm paying more than 60 bucks for a golf cart muffler. But I'll probably do what you said first before a chop anything up.I might take exhaust manifold off real quick to see if it's smoking from the engine or muffler if it comes down to that.

I doubt the muffler is going to be a problem, it was the 6 quarts of oil, I'm surprised it ran at all let alone smoke.

That 6 quarts was just an estimate because he put almost 5 in and didnt drain the old oil. But yeah I'm surprised it ran too. I'm really hoping it's just as simple as and oil change, but I'm really worried that it's gonna be the rings or something internal. It did have a lot of oil in the intake, buy I can't tell that is blow by or if it is from the crank case vent tube

Pull the plugs, spin it over a few times, put the plugs back in and see if it will run.
Get on it and see.
