why recall on mci motor?
I know this is an older topic but im new to my 2004 txt with the mci motor. ive looked around for info on the recall for the mci motor but cant really find good info. I did see about which vin numbers apply but not sure why the recall is being done. anyone got a link I can read for some more info. is the mci motor much different than the previous years aside from the cylinder head?

Re: why recall on mci motor?
ok so its mostly due to a fire hazard then. the carb and and round air filter do nothing for performance or reliability then? I think I might just leave mine be since its running nice right now. always concerned about fixing whats not broken.lol
thanks sccowboy for the link. |

Re: why recall on mci motor?
My engine is pre mci so I'm not familiar with any performance gains with the mci version. As far as reliability, I would keep an eye out for the fuel or oil in the air box issue
