![]() ok.i bypassed the governor on my 1990 G2A. now i'm looking at its huge muffler.anybody got any answers for a less restrictive muffler configuration.i am headed to a used motorcycle shop in downtown Phoenix and i thought maybe someone would help me with the new muffler configuration.thanks and Happy New Year everyone.FYI,the bypass worked great. took about an hour and it was done.100 percent improvement.

![]() When I was running the stock engine, I modified the stock muffler to make it less restrictive. Others have use motorcycle mufflers, atv mufflers, tractor mufflers. Your 4 stroke engine is easier to match something up than it is for a 2 stroke.

![]() I ran a 2 stoke dirt bike muffler on my g9 for awhile. it was a little too loud soI ended up taking it off

![]() well wound up finding a 250 4 stroke japanese muffler.cut off old muffler notched new pipe(found muffler at Bobs Used Motorcycle Parts in downtown Phenix,then put old muffler exhaust pipe on and clamped.gonna make a stud from the frame to the new muffler and put in a bolt hole and attach. hope the pictures come out.entire job,me and my friend took about 3 hours. real happy with results

![]() umm I hope this is a mock up photo.
you have the muffler attached to the frame with no flex joint. as soon as you hit a bump it is going to bend the pipe. Even if you attach to the rear suspension frame that the motor is attached to. You will need to put some flex in the pipe as the motor will move relative to the rear axle. |
