![]() Hello all,
I have a Cloud Energy GFA48-100 battery on the way to upgrade my tired Crown FLA batteries. I haven't yet received it, but was prepping the cart and have a question on the included battery charger. I currently have an Alltrax XCT 400 controller, and the existing charging harness is connected to the controller. The new charger that is supplied by Cloud Energy will connect directly to the battery (at least I think so). Does that make sense? Any issues bypassing the controller (or is this just par with chargers for these Lithium packs?). I'm assuming that if I am indeed just connecting the new charger directly to the pack that I can just completely tear out the old harness and remove the wires from the Alltrax controller... (Which brings up another point, why did the wiring harness for my FLA batteries go through the controller?) Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide. Tom |

![]() The CE charger comes with an Anderson connector attached to it and two cables with Anderson connectors on one end and ring terminals and alligator clips on the other ends

![]() If the charger wires are connected to the + and - on the controller going to the battery, it could just be a connecting point so you didn't have so many wires connecting on the battery.

![]() I would use the battery side of the contactor as my + terminal for charging or other B+ feeds for the simple reason it's away from the batteries, so less likely to get corrosion on the cable.

![]() I just installed a Cloudenergy pack in a 2017 ClubCar Precedent last night. I removed the entire wiring harness from the old charge port. Just remove the bolt from the solenoid for the positive, and the controller for the negative. Then the interlock is a blue bullet connector. You do lose the interlock cutout feature.
Where in SC? I'm near Charleston. Anyone getting one of these batteries, or a similar BMS download the "Overkill Solar" app. It lets you read everything the screen does, plus program a bit more than the generic Xiaoxiang BMS app does. |

![]() Interesting - my display was siliconed into a metal bracket. I removed it since the whole assembly was so large.
