![]() Installed our new Vatrer 48V 105AH battery today in our 2009 Club Car Precent. Bypassed the OBC, crimped new eyelets on power cables, and installed the Vatrer charger as well. Everything went great and works wonderful, but have a quick question...
We only use the cart a few times a month. With the flooded batteries we just always left the cart plugged into the charger. Plugged the cart in tonight after install and testing and battery charged to 100% in about 3 hours. But, as the cart is sitting there, every few minutes the charger comes on, runs for 30 seconds or so, then turns off again. Is it better to just charge the battery, unplug charger, then turn off battery pack with switch on case? Will turning off the battery with the switch on the case require that the BMS be calibrated each and every time? Anyway, that's where we are at. Any help you all can lend here would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! |

![]() Unplug the charger when done. No need to leave it plugged in. No need to turn off battery as that only disconnects power from the external posts; it doesn't turn off the BMS

![]() What's probably happening when your charger cycles is that a cell reaches 3.65V and the BMS goes into COV overvoltage state and shuts down charging. Then when it comes out of COV after 5 or so minutes it resumes charging. Rinse and repeat. You can verify this by watching your display that came with the battery

![]() I would just charge it and then unplug it after the charger shuts off for the first time. I have the same battery and shut it off if it’s gonna sit for a few days but that’s not even necessary. If you don’t want to flip the seat and push the button every time, you can also shut it off from the screen on the second page
