![]() Can someone please provide specific instructions on adjusting the governor on my 2014 Yamaha EFI?
I am not very mechanical but understand that it may be a simple adjustment that I could perform. I have a high speed motor and would like to get another 5 mph speed. |

![]() Theres a 10mm nut under the rear access panel. Just tighten the nut on the threaded rod to your likings.

![]() "I have a high speed motor" please elaborate, how can i get a high speed motor? My motor is stock, can i convert it to be a high speed motor? On a more serious note, the governor adjustment is the same as all G2-G29. If you bypass the governor on a FI cart, you will discover a built in rev limiter in the PCM.

![]() Sorry, I did mean High Speed Gears. I'm new to gas engines.
Thanks for the good advise. I just got done adjusting my speed using a Zip-Tie on the Governor. Boy was that easy. It gave me confidence having an experienced mechanic looking over my shoulder. |

![]() Yeah using the zip tie the method there is no sign of yhe nut being tampered with if warranty claims are needed. Good luck.. Post some pics of your cart even if its stock.

![]() Do you have larger tires and a lift on you cart?? Larger tires makes a hell of a difference in top speed.

![]() Thanks all.
A little zip-tie adjustment to the governor and larger tires (that I intended on getting anyway) brought my speed up to 25 mph. Perfect! |

![]() No lift required.
I just swapped the 205-50-10 with 205-65-10. That gave me 1-2 more mph. |
