![]() I'll post pictures of the "before" in the next day or so....
Started the tear down tonight... Keep in mind EVERYTHING metal is rusted or has rust on it. Started by removing the top by taking the 4 bolts out of the top. EZPZ. Removed the uprights. Drilled out rivets with 3/16" bit along the top of the dash (make sure to use a sharp bit - saves the rivets from spinning). I had to drill out all 4 screws along the rocker. Took a long flathead screwdriver and popped the body fasteners out. Got snagged on the front clip behind te EZGO logo - complete rust fuggbucket. Used brute force to tear it off. I'll be getting a new body for this thing anyway. End result: Front body off. Top off. Pile of rust swept off the floor. Hole in hand where I slipped on a rusty piece on the frame. I'll drill out the rivets for the rear body tomorrow and remove the bag carrier frame so I can completely remove the rear. Then take the compressor and wire wheel to the frame and see what I've got to work with. Stay tuned. |

![]() Will do...
I had always assumed that a run/tow switch and the TXT body style meant DCS... |

![]() I'm not too sure about the DCS/PDS I don't mess with them too much I try to stay with series carts. But by the look of your steering wheel and F&R lever it looks like a Medalist.

![]() Medalist have medal bodies, TXT is the same design but plastic bodies... I may be wrong but I think DCS is post-medalist.
DCS refers to drive control system which that little emblem on your rear body panel probably says... |

![]() No question.... it's a DCS.
This weekend I got a little bit of work done on this thing.... Rear body panel is off. Took a wire wheel to the frame. There is quite a bit of rust - but overall, I was very surprised that it isn't as bad as I had thought. I figured that I would definitely need to be replacing the battery tray - but after cleaning it up a bit - I think I'll just hit it with some primer and paint... There is a spot on each side of the frame in the front - right as the frame starts to turn up that has some cancer. Looking at it - it could go either way... frankly it will probably outlast anyone that buys it... but since I'll be selling this one I need to do things the right way. Will be doing some welding work in the next week or so... just to clear any second thoughts that I have. Have the old body loaded in the truck now - will be getting a new (used) body this week for the swap. ![]() ![]() |
