Unhappy 1988 Parcar..I'm back..with useless motor.

I'm back again...I still have my 1988 Par Car..still have the BRAND NEW MOTOR...that was sent to me with a cracked carb..The seller won't replace it...he is being a real A-hole. I just feel like I have been used and abused...Anyway I took off the cracked carb...thinking that I can get it welded...We gave it to some guy at a garage and he welded it for me...but he didn't take it apart before welding...Now I think the carb is no good because of all the gaskets are melted inside...I put it on the motor anyway I wanted to see if there was gas in the bowl..and yest there is...but my question is " even if there is gas in the bowl could the carb still be defective because of the welding? I have been looking for another carb...but I can't afford it..I have seen them as high as $350. Is there anywhere I can get a used carb cheaper...This cart has been sitting in my yard since 09 when i bought it and got screwed royaly. We are just senoirs and don't have that kind of money. The man I bought it from is enjoying my money while he sent me a defective motor.

Thanks in advance for all your help...
Sandra

What specific motor and what carb do you have? (Or maybe still need).

Thanks for the reply jeggers...

Since all of this happened I had changed hard drives and I am waiting for the guy to retrive my mail and pictures from my old one...that has all my information on it... It is a Walbro carb..but i can't remember the numbers.. All I know is it's for a 1988 ParCar...I have a couple of pictures of the old motor is you can make anything of that...it still had the carb on it...I can send the pics to you by email...my email is sandra.martin@primus.ca.

Thanks for all your help..I really really appreciate it so much...
I guess it's back to opening up the wallet....

Been intouch with all of the people you mentioned and a few more...I can't believe the prices..so far since the Japan Earthquake it had gone up 800% to 1200%..$829 was the lowest price....That is gouging from my point of view...Gonna keep on looking maybe find a used one...
Thanks Everyone...

I show that at Columbia we have them in stock (52 of them), retail priced at only $217.36. Don't know who's doing the price gouging out there but they're greedy. Columbia part number 27158-87E is the Walbro WHL10, horizontal choke shaft 1988 on.
