Is there any location other than the key switch to get a switched wire?
Just like the title says. 2011 precedent with excel system. I'd rather not have to run all the way up to the key switch but I will if I have to. Thanks for any info.

Could you follow the switch wire in the wiring diagram and tap it closer to the seating area? I did this on my yamaha for the converter but i dont know about the excel.

The closest would be the light blue wire at the small post of the solenoid. If your voltage converter does not have a trigger wire, you should use a relay. Do not place a large load in the cold side of the keyswitch or you could get controller error codes.
