AM/FM troubleshooting on my cd player
Hey there BGW experts!
I have had my cdplayer in my clubcar for about 3 years now but never hooked up my am/fm radio. Is there a certain way to hook it up?Because I put a male end that would connect into a ipod just for now.I get great reception but when I drive I hear a squeaking noise in the speakers.Hope there is something better! Thank BGW experts Rasta78 |

I'm not sure I understand.
They hook up like a car, if it's gas. You need an antenna. Speakers and... More info? Electric? |

Re: AM/FM troubleshooting on my cd player
Sounds like you need to oil your speakers Just kidding
If it is gas you may need a spark plug with a R on it this cuts down on interference. |

Re: AM/FM troubleshooting on my cd player
I have a 99 ezgo gas workhorse. I have a Sony from walmart. My antenna is of good quality and radio is good. The CD player PUMPS it!
I think that is mostly the quality/volume on CD that can not be reproduced by radio. I just don't think it can be done. AN FM booster may help, location is huge! Good Luck . |

Re: AM/FM troubleshooting on my cd player
REMEMBER THAT NOTHING CAN BE GROUNDED TO CART FRAME ON AN ELECTRIC CART.
You didnt tell us what year and model cart you have so it could be for different reasons? What you may be hearing is motor or controller noise? Are your speakers close to any motor, controller or heavy gauage battery cables, forward reverse switch? I ended up mounting a marine antenna and shielding my radio best possible to cut down on sound. Radio QUALITY also is a major factor I found in sound reproduction. Where are you getting power for all your accessories. Battery pack or several batterys in pack to a reducer allows noise to come through from power circuits. I solved most of my problems by adding an extra 12 volt battery to power 12 volt circuits and charging it seperatly. Even at that I had some noise problems when operating cart so did the above. |

Give it up if you're talking about the AM since you'll have a very hard time overcoming EMI. I BELIEVE ??? or have heard ???, grounding the antenna hold down bracket directly to the Negitive lead of the battery as well as a direct grounding of the radio case will help with FM EMI. I'd google that to be sure. |
