Motor for 72 volts
Does a stock EZGO series motor handle 72 volts well? How many RPMs are the limit? What motor would you guys swap in?

Xtreme, send that unit to PQ, they will rewire it for what you want to throw at it.

Re: Motor for 72 volts
My stock ezgo circa '82 burnt up the insulation at 72v. It made my brake cables melt instantly until I found out the problem. Emp rebuilt my motor and I have run 72 v thru it several times without a problem. I mainly stay at 48-60v so I have no long term effect knowledge.
Be sure if your going to 72v or higher that you have the motor banded for safety. |

Re: Motor for 72 volts
It should handle it fine, depends on age and condition of motor. If it is the 2hp 2800rpm, the rpms will double to 5600 at 72 volts. That equates to 25mph on stock tires/gears. It says max of 8000rpms. As far as motor to swap in, it depends on your needs. How about a PQ Assassin and have them design it for your needs (torque or speed or both)?
