newbie with a few questions
hi guys. I just picked up a 1996 Club Car 48v for my Grandfather to get around on, and for me to have some fun on!! since this is my first golf cart, I just want to know what I should check out, look out for or fix on it. I don't know much about carts so bare with me! the cart is completely stock, we'd like to at least add a back seat (flip down or solid) and some lights. so where can I get a rear seat? next question, how do I hook up 12v lights to a 48v system? or do they make special lights for the Club Car, just some basic headlights for at night. is there anything else I need to check out on this cart? it runs great, has 2 year old batteries. oh it also has the rocker switch for the forward/reverse, which is one of the things that sold me on it b/c it will be a lot easier for my Grandfather to use than the standard lever on most carts I looked at. ok guys thanks in advance!

Re: newbie with a few questions
I'll jump in on the lights, couple of options.
You can buy a converter that converts 48V to 12V. - $120 to $150 You can run two 12V headlights in series through three of the batteries. You could install two headlights and two taillights run in series and use the whole pack for equal wattage draw. Check with the site vendors here for a flip seat. The best thing you could get would be an owners/service manual and become familiar with the cart and it's maintenance requirments. Once you learn more about the cart you can better decide what else you want to do or add to it. Welcome to our world! Mitch |

Re: newbie with a few questions
I know you didn't ask, but since it is your first golf cart, the main thing that will need attention are the batteries. Keep your golf cart running for a long time by checking the water level at least once a month and adding distilled water when needed to a level just above the plates inside. (approx 1/4 inch above) This is one of the best tips you can get.
