I would bet that yours is a series cart, not IQ. Unless it is a regen I, but even then I bet it would be a no go. The upside is that the series cart can be hopped up to go faster than an IQ cart, but it will cost $1k or more.

Yes it is a series car so no magnets work it then? So what would you do to it to get it moving keep in mind that I'm using it to drive around my neighborhood and to work which only takes me 18 min goin 10 mph to get there and I live in Florida (no hills). So I want as much speed but still not have to worry about pushing my baby back. If someone could give me an edgucated guess on what parts and what time or distance each part will deminish the life of battery that would be very helpful cause I see a lot on here about parts and everyone says the life goes down but no one says how much. Thanks to everyones help

with a series cart there aren't any cheap tricks or magic dongles that give you more speed...

you can:
a. get larger diameter tires
b. drop in a 36v motor
c. get your motor rebuilt for speed (ie: plum quick)
d. add more batteries (higher voltage)

dropping in a 36v motor if you can find one is likely your cheapest/easiest route. plum quick also has many happy customers and only costs around $225.

Got a magnet...but I am tech illiterate. Any info on how to remove the sensor...put in the magnet...and re-connect would be apreciated. Can see the sensor on the side of the motor...just don't wanna screw something up. 07 Club Car Precedent/ADC Motor.

I installed one of these magnets on my 06 Precedent that is currently at code 4 and no speed change. I then flipped it over and reinstalled as no int/ext sides are defined on the magnet, still no dice. Cart runs at 20mph, which it already did. Any suggestions? I do have the ADC motor and install was as pictured in ad for magnet.
BTW...Seller of the magnet has been very cooperative and will refund with shipping if I don't get results and wish to return it.

the magnet is actually like 8 magnets; 4 north poles, 4 south poles. the poles pass a hall effect sensor which converts the rotation into electrical pulses. (off-on-off-on-off-on, etc) the controller counts these pulses and puts the smack down on your throttle once you hit the limit of speed code 3. to get around this you can:
A. give CC $150 to unlock your controller
b. capture the pulses before they get to the controller and then send less than what is actually being produced. (ie: gaminde's speed fooler 2000, speedy link)
c. hack the eeprom
d. send only half as many pulses.

the magnet mod does D. by using a magnet with less poles (say 4 or 6 vs 8 ), you send 2 or 4 less pulses per rotation. the controller knows the motor is spinning, but it never sees the speed go beyond the limit of speed code 3, thus never tries to regulate your throttle.

not sure how technically correct all this is, but thats the gist of it....

btw, you can likely make your own for a couple of $ by gluing some rare earth magnets to a washer. use caution though, they can pinch the s**t outta you. also, the material is toxic, so don't lick 'em.
Sonicj,
Your insight on this is appreciated. I looked at your diagram of the stock and mod cinfiguration for the magnet. Do your think it would add more speed to take 2 of the poles out of the mod, possibly creating an even lower reported RPM to the controller?
I have one of these magnets, and it is essentially a plastic housing that can be opened that holds 4 tiny magnets. I'm thinking about taking a couple of them out. With my speed program at 4, the mod made no difference. Maybe going to 2 magnets will give my cart a bump?
Any thoughts,
mikeatpru

with speed code 4, your controller is basically "unlocked". your speed is now limited by the physics off the drive system, not a counting circuit and some code. make sense?

Yes, I believe so. The speed sensor is no longer a factor. I guess the ad was not accurate by stating it takes IQ powered carts from 20 to 27-28mph. Sounds like I'm maxed unless I want to mess with tire size, motor change or mod and or possible controller change.
