Default 07 TXT Steering too easy

I have a just rebuilt 2007 TXT. Looks, runs perfect.
However, the steering is just too easy to turn. Others with the same year cart feel correct. I do not have any play in the system, the tie rods are good, nothing loose, no slop, etc. It just turns easier than any other cart and just feels too easy. If you hit obstruction on the path it wants to turn the wheels since there is little resistance against it. Any suggestions? A damper would be great, but have not seen it for this year/model. it has the Jakes 3" lift on it.

In 2001 ezgo changed the steering location, and it is a lighter effort. If yours feels different than your friends it is probably result of the lift kit.

I am comparing it to two others, same year, same lift. Theirs feels like all my other carts. Mine just has no resistance, and wants to turn on its own when hitting rocks, big grooves, etc.

Sounds like an alignment issue to me...

look at the main tie rod connecting the two wheels. on the passenger side it should be notched. With it still on the cart, take a wrench and facing the passenger wheel, turn the wrench counter clockwise. You may want to jack up the front so there is no friction from the wheels. This fix will give you more toe in, look at this abut toe

If the suggestions above do not help check out this thread.

This is the info that helped me figure out the problem

I had the same problem with my 01. Racin161 already brought this up, but what is your caster angle as it sits now? Mine was 3" negative after I installed the lift, the top of the steering knuckle was more forward then the bottom. I changed that to 6 degrees positive and all my problems went away. I used a Home Depot magnetic angle finder to measure the angle, but if the bolt that holds you steering knuckle on is close vertical and not rotated top towards the rear a few degrees, it will drive like that.

As an FYI..When my cart had negative caster, if you made a turn and then let go of the steering wheel, it would not return to center. After I made the adjustment, if I let go of the steering wheel during a turn, the cart now straightens back up and the wheel returns to center.

Good suggestions. I will stop and check the angles today. Negative castor description sounds exactly how my cart behaves.
