I know he didn't go cheap on everything as far as i can tell the converter is pretty good. How will i know if the converter is sufficent for the power i need for lights and radio? Also yes it is deff 48 volt to 12 volt!

If there is no data with the specs for the converter output on a sticker somewhere take a pic of the converter and post it when you get the chance. Something else to get a good idea of its capability is put your hand on it after running your lights for a while and see how hot it is. If its not real warm you will probably be safe with the radio. Here is the deal basically, it comes down to the watt ouput of the radio, how many speakers and how loud you will be playing it. Lets say you are pushing 200 watts on the radio, at 12V that is pulling 16 amps. Now if your running halogen lights which are high amp pullers too your pushing the limit of a 20A reducer. This is just an example and again it just boils down to the amp rating of your reducer. Here is a pic of the reducer I install in most carts and you can purchase it at Revolution Golf Carts online here which is a site sponsor. It has a 30A rating, inline fuse and comes with very clear instructions with a wire diagram that shows exactly how to wire it.

If Your cart has a working OBC for charging:
The only cable connected to pack negative should be the main cable and it must go through the OBC.

All other negative wires must be connected off the controller B- terminal.

There are different ways to implement the electronics on DC-DC converters, if You get one with at least 20amps output, it will have the efficient switching mode circuit.

When sizing the current draw for the radio, and in the absence of specifications, always use the RMS value to calculate current draw.

A typical 200w Radio (4x50w) likely is rated at 4x12w RMS, so even with 50% efficiency loss it will not draw more than 10 amps.

this is the converter i have it says that it is a 20Amp. My radio that i am using says that it is a max current consumption of 5A and a max output power of 4x20 RMS. Also i have the regular halogen light kit. Will this all work?
