Default wheels and tires

I got a set of wheels and tires last nigh that are 12 inch wheels and 21 inch tires. I have a club car ds and was curious if I could put hd springs on back and the one inch in the front for them to work or should I just go with a lift kit?
thanks for any info

You could go with HD rear springs, but depends on the ones you choose they may not give enough lift, mine gave 1 1/2 inch lift they are 4 leaf. Some people just make longer rear shackles.

The one inch lift they make for the front is made to go above the spring, but that effects the alignment adjustment. If you get one put the block above the plate that the spring rides against. That way the alignment cam is not bothered.

You may want to check with David (TahoeDawg) at Revolution about this. He told me 20" tires were the max. with a 1" block.

A lot depends on the wheel off set. I have 20.5 tires on my DS with a 1/2 inch block on the front and HD rear leafs. The front was ok without the block unless I went all the way left or right with the steering wheel.

I placed Jake's Wheelbase Extension Kit on my '93 DS. I have more clearance in the front end now than I had with stock tires and wheels before I added the kit. The wheels are 12x6 with a 3+4 offset and 215/50-12 tires. With the taller tires I had some rubbing in the rear when I hit a bump with a second rider and their golf bag. I resolved this by fabricating 1.5" longer shackles for the rear which raised it 1". I also made a simple bracket to raise the bottom of my stock shocks up 2" so they wouldn't be extended to their max. I might add that my ride is better now than it ever was when it was completely stock. Not sure why that is.

On a side note, I had my clutches machined and with these tires and wheels I hit the rev limiter at 24 mph which is 4 mph faster at the same point with my stock tires and wheels.

Attached are some pics of the look it gives you with the wheelbase extension. Moving the front end 2" forward gives it a more balanced look IMO. These pictures are before I added the longer shackles so it now sets 1" higher in the rear.
