1993 DS Gasser Pedal Goes To Floor!

I'm having an annoying problem on my otherwise good-running '93 DS....The gas pedal goes to the floor and sticks. You literally have to pull it back up with your foot to slow/stop it. Needless to say, this is a fairly dangerous situation. I got under the cart to see if anything was bound up or broken. Nope, it looked fine *except* for the fact that the spring that retracts the pedal itself seems a bit weak. Is this usually a problem? I tried to find the spring in a parts catalog and can't seems to find a supplier or part #. Anyone have any ideas of what's going on here? TIA!

Club Car requires that you lube all parts of the pedal assemblies once a year...
Have you tried to lube anything yet?

Thanks but my cart is a 1993 & that # states '97-up. I'm pretty sure it's different, unless someone can conform? But thank you all the same!

Spray some lubricant / penetrating oil on the shaft the pedal swings on. Take a close look at the bushing / bearings that the shaft runs through. It's quite common for those to get a bit bound up. In some cases they will wear to the point of getting wallowed out and case issues with the parking brake not setting too.
