Default Precedent 5 wire 48v voltage reducer.

I ordered a 5 wire 48 to 12 volt voltage reducer for my 2010 Precedent. Can someone tell me where to connect the shutoff wire on the key switch? Should shut off the reducer when the key is off or turn it on when the key is on, LOL. Thanks in advance.

If I understand your question correctly, the answer is to connect the trigger (or turn on) wire for the reducer to the blue (or cold) wire on the switch. Cold wire means not energized when the key is off. If you are using the popular MadJax 30a converter, the trigger wire is a smaller gauge green wire from the converter for this purpose.

You can also pick up the load side of the key switch at the solenoid 'Lt Blue' wire, which may be easier to get to from your converter.

Thank you. That is what I was looking for. The solenoid may be just where I need to go.
