Default Did I just fry my alltrax controller?

I have an Alltrax XCT 500 amp. I just dropped the usb cable (the end that plugs into the computer) onto one of the positive batter posts. Several sparks, now my cart goes nowhere. When I turn on the key the volt meter shows voltage but the cart doesn't move. No reverse buzzer and no led status light on the controller? Any advise other than buy a new one?

Wow! The control has reverse polarity protection on the input and the out ends but sounds like nobody thought of this happening. I suggest you call Alltrax and Ask them if you can send it in for evaluation.

Thanks. Do I get a discount from you on my second one? I just found another printer cable and plugged it in. Of course nothing. Would it normally read anything if it isn't powered on. In other words could you normally have the key off and still see / change settings?

Yes - the USB powers the controller enough to program it. I programmed mine before installing it by just plugging in the USB. You probably fried it by putting a high voltage on the USB cable. It's only supposed to see 5 volts.

I sent my bad controller to Alltrax last Thursday. I had a new controller on my front porch today when I got home from work. No charge. Best warranty and customer service ever!
