Default OBC Analysis

I was looking at old threads and I came across this one started by DrBob about the OBC and it's internals.

Being I am an semi retired electronics tech I was all over it.

Very interesting discussions with pics and schematic stuff released by CC.

Probably most of the old timers here have seen it but I thought I would throw it out there.

Wonder if DrBob is still lurking around? This was a great thread.

Have some and check it out.

For those that read this far, you get a "hang in there" reward - the BIG News, is that Club Car as essentially disclosed a great deal on how their OBC very likely works in patents filed by their employees and those of Lester Electrical. Probably the most descriptive is U.S. Patent 6,087,805 at:

Bottom line the MCOR is a piece of throwaway electronics.
Notice the way I didn't say **** there

Yep, OBC, MCOR and voltage reducers are throwaway.
I have see some MCOR repair threads and it still seems like a lot of work.
Should just replace it, IMO.

Don't drill out the OBC ground lead sense hole for 2awg cables, you will destroy it!

Do the stud kit!
