Default G29 drum brakes, pad replace

looking to replace the brakes, preferably just the shoes on my G29. it is lifted with bigger tires and id like a little better stopping power. brakes seem slightly spongy at times.
I cannot find information ANYWHERE on the WWW. I dont want to upgrade to disc or anything, just want some stronger drum brakes. Any ideas?

The G29, also known as the Yamaha drive, has an internal wet brake in the trans. I've heard it's a pain in the behind. There are kits available to give your cart front hydraulic disc brakes...

It’s a pain but it’s doable. I have a thread on it. First of all, what year is your cart? Makes a big difference.

Would 2015 and newer be considered the "drive 2"?

Luke, thanks. i am fully aware as you've stated 3 times i have 2 threads relating to this issue. I greatly appreciate your concern for my double post!!

cart is 2016 G29 or Drive depending on who you ask, im really not sure!! however it has standard drums on each end of rear axle. Not traditional wet brakes.

i have taken apart each drum and cleaned the shoes and have plenty of life to them, i just want a little more stopping power due to extra weight and what not on cart.

If your pads are in good shape and the drums are good, you might need to look into a front brake kit or something similar.

still cant find D*** brake shoes for G29/drive exterior brake system. I find it hard to believe that anyone with a yamaha that has external drum brakes cant replace them. i just reeeeeeeeeeeeeaally dont want to pay to add disc on the front
