Default 2008 YDRE: Many clicks, but no go

I just bought a used 2008 Yamaha YDRE 48 volt cart. It worked for a day, then it stopped working after a thorough washing. I thought I may have just knocked something loose but nope, everything is tight.

Batteries are fully charged, tight/clean connections
Fuses are good
The solenoid clicks when switched Tow/Run (sounds more like a double click)
The solenoid clicks when key turned from 'Off' to ‘On’
The solenoid clicks when throttle depressed
The forward/reverse button beeps when in reverse – seems to be working - have not yet tested voltage

But no go…….

When cleaning I opened up the floormat and pedal cluster area (it was packed with crud)…I cleaned it using a shop vac, then some water and then blew everything dry with compressed air. maybe water was a bad idea? I opened the TPS & blew dry, same with the other connection near pedal. I’m confident everything is dry.

Do the above symptoms sound like a ‘typical’ problem to fix?

I am new to this and yes I am a girl.....I really want to learn vs. having to call 'the guy' each time there's a problem.

Any ideas? Thanks for your time.

Get you a multi-meter, start researching on how to check each input device, TPS, F&R, KSI, Charger interlock. verify that your input are there and correct. Wiring diagram are available on the internet for free. Don't forget about the health of your battery pack, clean terminal, water level, SP age are all factors & FULLY CHARGED.
good luck and enjoy

Put tow/run switch to run. Key off. Unlock brake & push cart. It should click, sound reverse buzzer, and resist your pushing efforts. Does it do this?

Yes cgtech, when key off, brake unlocked and cart pushed...it clicks, resists and sounds reverse buzzer.

Ok, we can rule out the following items, these are Not the problem..... (The last test proved they were good)

Motor
Controller
Tow/run switch
Solenoid
Tach sensor

I next suggest that you press the gas pedal to the floor, and slide your foot off the side, allowing the pedal to slam up to its at rest position. (While guarding the brake pedal with your other foot, in case it decides to go). The purpose is to "whack" the gas pedal switch, as this will sometimes make a failing one work again a time or 2.

THANK YOU cgtech! Very helpful and relieving to know I can rule out those items, especially the motor (phew!). I will try the pedal 'whacking' and will report back! Thanks again. T

If the cart beeps, it knows it's rolling (and should be trying to stop it). In that scenario, I might suggest checking motor brushes for stuck/worn out.
