Cushman 1200X (or maybe a Workhorse)
I am considering a long wheelbase cart as a platform to build a sporting clays cart.
Am I correct that the current Cushman Hauler 1200 series replaced the older Workhorse and MPT carts? Is there a resource that shows compatibility between TXT accessories and Cushman or Workhorse carts. Changes that I would be interested in making include: 1. Rear seat 2. Suspension upgrade (long travel, springs). I may decide the stock 1200X suspension is adequate if I get get bigger tires under it. 3. Longer Top (cover the back seat)/correct roof struts 4. Larger tires 5. Lights 6. Front and rear hitches 7. Winch 8. Clays basket on front 9. Gun rack in the area between the back of the front seat and rear seat (this is the primary reason for using a LWB cart) 10. Maybe a brake upgrade 11. Probably others I have searched quite a bit and did not find much direction. I will continue to search, but if anyone has a resource that you could point me to I would appreciate it. |

Re: Cushman 1200X (or maybe a Workhorse)
1200x is roughly 11 inches longer than the standard txt so a standard rear seat kit would have to be fabricated. I also think the x series has a wider than normal front axle so the standard txt lift won’t work either. It may already have a 4 inch lift so could run some bigger tires without lifting anymore. Lights would be no problem. Rear hitch should be there, front would have to be fabricated. Clays basket would fit as well as the top. Would have to determine what brakes it had but discs could be an option.

Re: Cushman 1200X (or maybe a Workhorse)
Thanks KGSC. I assumed the rear seat would need to be completely fabricated.
Is a 1200 (not X) identical to a TXT such that most accessories would be plug and play? Just looked up the dimensions and the overall dimensions are the same. The X has a slightly longer Wheelbase. The front track on a X is 3" wider. The rear is the same. The X has double the ground clearance at 7". Same engine. Same forward axle ratio. The X is faster, but has less load capacity and less towing capacity. X has larger tires. I wonder if the X rides smoother. My objective is to smooth out the ride on rough gravel sporting clays course trails. Last edited by Keperkey; 11-27-2019 at 01:20 PM.. Reason: more information |

The only difference I know with the X is the front axle is wider. Probably is a drop axle hence the height and larger tires. Drive train is the same. For the rear seat you should be able to use a standard kit but are going to have to create some brackets to support it. Everything else standard txt parts will work.

David is a good guy and a good sponsor but not sure what ezgo parts he handles. He is mostly a Club Car guy. Plenty of other sponsors though. Where are you located?

There was a guy in Augusta doing these but don’t know his name. All new gas drivetrains and diamond plate covers for where the rear seat mounts and the space between the seat backs. Looked sharp. Not sure if he was a business or not but I can ask around.
