Back firing
my 94 EZGO is Back firing does anyone know why. It is 2-stroke and it had a little bit of old gas in it but I put about 1.5 gallons of new gas and I put stabilizer and octane buster in it as well as change the spark plug and wire. It seams to do it when I slow down after it is up to speed and a lot in reverse. The other thing is when I start accelerating there is now speed control. To go slow I have to keep tapping the gas peddle to go slow and I don’t know what that’s all about. Any help would be very much appreciated

Re: Back firing
have you removed the carb and cleaned it out? sounds like the float is sticking causing excessive fuel to enter the intake once the pedal is released.

Re: Back firing
make sure your butterfly in the carb is closing and opening with the gas pedal, try to take out the idle screw to fully close the butterfly, it may stop the backfire
