Try to bypass charger as shown in picture and see if it charges your batteries. Doing this will also bypass the auto shut off so make sure you don't over charge your batteries.

- I attempted to bypass the OBC with my home-made jumper (4 feet of 12 guage wire and 20amp aligator clips). Also checked the voltage of each battery 8.11V+ for each and the whole pack: 48.8V).

Charger still would not come on after OBC bypass (clipped Jumper to neg post on rear-passenger battery and to end of fuse inside yellow boot wtih fuse still stuck into recptical side).

So I decided to take apart the recepticle as it was the last thing left on my list. I got it apart and it looks like the grey wire had broken free from the the metal sleeve that one of the charger pins slides into (grey wire is same one with yellow boot and fuse).

I think that explains why the charger would not come on and why the OBC bypass attempt failed.

Will check local golf cart stores Thursday for a replacement recpetical.

The good news is you don't need a new receptacle. Flatten the end of the prong where the wire broke off, Then drill hole in the end of the prong. Strip the grey wire back, insert it into the hole you just drilled and solder it bck together. That was a real common problem.

It works! I sprung for the new bits: $112+Tax for a new receptacle. I didn't see the suggestion on how to repair it with drill and resolder until after I'd installed the new gear.

After installing, I held my breath as I plugged in the charger and just as I was bemoaning the fact that nothing had changed... the charger did its "tick" thing once or twice and then started humming.

Thanks for all the help, suggestions & pics to fix my "stomped" (stopped) charger.

Its just like the factory did just better, and saves my customer $112 bucks for soemthing they didn't need. Plus I gain 5 customers off the word of mouth for saving the customer the money. Thinking outside the box
