That is the govenor shaft (coming out of a "Dana" rear end). There would have been "lever assembly" with the accelerator cable #1 (from the accelerator pedal)(the bracket is still attatched to the differential) a "Govenor" spring and another accelerator cable (#2) that would go to the carberator. You car must have the accelerator cable going right to the carberator. Sorry, no special rear end here. If it did come from the factory that way....I'd be very suprised.

Yeah trust us thats for the governor. As far as I know that has nothing to do with the rear end itself and is just used a mount to hold the governor assembly.

I know my Pro Hauler 700 as purchased only goes 25 max and have read someplace that there might be a 10mm adjustment that will increase that some and wonder if this is fact or another fiction. Also was told that bypassing the governor and going directly to the carb could be dangerous. Any info on a safe way to increase speed would be welcome.

The 10mm nut was on the governor that you do not have... My g16 does 25 with 22" tires @ 3950 rpm. If it does not have a governor then you could over rev the engine. Don't keep it floored going down hill.

My 2005 apparently has a governor, while the original guy did not and his goes 55. Mine only gets about to 25 and would wonder if there is an adjustment on the governor that could boost it some. Again I read elsewhere that you can just bypass governor and go direct to carb but possibly could be fire hazard.
