Where can I get a limo-length throttle cable?
Anyone know where I can buy a 12' long throttle and/or choke cable? I'm stretching my G1 into a limo and the standard throttle cable is 9' (I think), so I need another 3'.
I didn't want to piece two cables together so that dirt gets into the cable opening because that tends to shorten the cable life span. I suppose I could use two stainless steal cables, if there is such a thing. |

The only thing I can think of is a Moorse Cable. Might be pricey tho.

Yamaha did not "factory stretch" G1's, but later model 4 cycles (G16 style) were. The JJ3(Umax) or JJ8(consier), f6311-00-00 accelerator cable should work for you. The JJ8 -f6331-00-00 choke cable should work, but it will need to go into the front seat "pod" rather then the dash. I can messure them if you like. Good luck on your build.

Re: Where can I get a limo-length throttle cable?
I haven't looked at the cable that closely but I used this company to build push/pull cables for my skid loader. They have a very good product for what I considered a VERY reasonable price (and I'm pretty cheap).
So if you can get some specs from your current cable and figure out what you want these guys can likely build it. http://www.midwestcontrol.com/ Hope this helps Brad |

Re: Where can I get a limo-length throttle cable?
Thanks for the info guys. I think a marine throttle cable may be my best bet as I have a discount boat shop nearby. I'm going to check those out tomorrow to see just how beefy they are. They might be too big for a golf cart application, but we'll see.
To answer the seat question - I was lucky and bought a used body cowl from a local used cart guy in town for $20. It was a little beat up but basically sound. I'm going to cut just the seat base off it and either leave the underside open for the rear passenger's legs or cover the opening. |
