99 club car motor post
I bought a cart off CL. The batteries needed to be replaced, did that. One of the wires going to motor from the solenoid need to be replaced and terminated. I did the previous and while breaking loose the terminal conection ended up breaking the ferit plates in the motor. I took the motor out and to the shop, they said $110 and some new plates I should be all good. Have any of you seen this? The cart ran for about 10 minutes before no longer working. I heard clicks and then it stoppped. Did I ruin anything else by running the cart with the loose motor connection?
I will never buy from CL again. |

Welcome to BGW!
Whenever you are installing or removing a cable from the motor terminal you need to use 2 wrenches ... 1 on the nut below the cable and 1 on the obvious one above the cable ... Dunno if you could have fried anything? Does the solenoid click when you try to go? |

Yes, the solenoid is clinking when i hit the pedal. I have the motor pulled right now but the solenoide was clicking when i pulled the motor. I could have used the wrench information earlier.
 I am a newbie to all this. Lesson learned. |

The info is all here ....... tons and tons of money and life saving information about how to fix and hotrod golf carts.... Dos and Don'ts ... Most people are too impatient to look for the info.
...For some reason people who would never in a million years dream of wrenching on their wife's car think they can fix the golf cart and jump right in wrenches blazing  |

I think that was a shot at me.... I have read and read on this MB for a few weeks. This has most information I am looking for. Being a DIY guy I took it as I can do this. Again with the lesson learned...

ok wise one, since you are a veteran of this forum. Show me a link the has the stereo install for the club car. I already have a 6" lift, nice tres and rims. Now I/ my girl is asking for some music. .... I have seen kits online but they seem a little lame. I want home/car quality on my cart. Any links???
BTW, I have had about a dozen coronas so dont take my sarcasm as rudeness...  |
