Tom at CPP returned an email today saying the spring was correct. Guess I'll install it and find out! Just hope I don't go backwards when I want to go forwards!

I checked this out, Jimmie. Thanks. The new spring is wound opposite the old one but I installed the new spring today and it drives fine. The cart has a smoother start now.

The old spring has torsion tabs and the new 'power spring' doesn't so it makes no difference which way the spring is wound.

gregb .... FWIW ...You are showing a picture of driven clutch spring vs. picture of a drive clutch spring.

right there is no preload on the aftermarket power spring.
