Default State Of Charge, Mulitmeter?

I read the sticky on state of charge. I know what battery is 1 and which one is 4 but I am completely illiterate on MM's. Don't give me a hard time on the P.O.S. I have but it is all I have here right now. It is a GE2524 Digital Multimeter and about all I know is that the black plugs in the COM and there is a 10A and VQ mA, 500V DC, 500V AC, 200mA Max plug. Which plug do I put the + Red into? Then, what do I pult the MM dial on? I know this is common knowledge for most of y'all but I have never been educated on a MM.

Thanks

Com is of course your ground source (-). You want to test DC voltage so put the Red in the 500 DC hole. As far as your dial... you'll want to select a range in the DC section large enough to read your pack voltage so make sure you select a setting larger then your pack voltage.
