Default Re: Stock batteries

Sounds like you already made your decision but I'll respond anyway. I recently also purchased an 06 Precedent with 08 batts. If you do some searching, you can probably find some posts related to a battery problem I had that turned out to be 1 bad battery. Fortunately, the person I bought it from owned up and swapped it for a good battery and all is good now. The batteries say club car on them but they also say Trojan. I get plenty of run time on these batteries so I have no complaints as of yet. But i think how the batteries were cared for before you get the cart has a lot to do with how much luck you'll have with them. I agree with getting a multimeter too to use to keep an eye on things. You are pretty much blind without one as far as knowing your voltages on individual batteries as well as the entire pack.

If it makes you feel better, I think $1700 for a stock 06 in good condition is a very good price compared to around here. I thought mine was not a bad price but I did pay a few hundred more than that. However that did include a brand new folding rear seat and powerdrive2 charger. I put $150 in a light kit, almost $200 in a stereo and supplies to install it, and in the process of adding about $700 in a lift kit and wheels/tires. But all-in-all, I'll have less invested than what I see similar carts with all that on them already selling for, which is $3700 and up.

Post pix when you can.
