Default New valves

I just bought new valves, rings, cam, and rocker arms for the 350. cylinder walls look great, and just planning to deglaze them. Any tips on Valve laping or other prep. work would be greatly appreciated?

Here's some info on valve lapping

You cover the valve with the lapping compound where it touches the head and then spin it as you push it into the head. The lapping compound will slowly sand the valve and the valve seat so that they match perfectaly and make a prefect seal. Here watch this video http://videos.streetfire.net/video/T...w-to_80862.htm

I don't know if this helps but I've tried water and oil based compounds and found that the oil based was a finer compound than the water based. The oil based finished out the valve and seat better b/c of the finer compound. Just some info. to think about.
