Re: Cart build
The solenoid should hopefully work until you can replace it with new HD unit?

Re: Cart build
Question are you running 36 volts pack voltage or 48 volt pack voltage?? If 36 volts thats part or maybe all of your slow speed problems? I thought you were going 48 volts or is my memory that bad? You got a high performance PQ motor and a high 480 amp rated controller but at 36 volts you are just giving it small amounts of power, just like a kink in a water hose? Besides your batterys are not broken in yet and that doesnt help right now. When you sent motor in did you tell them what controller and battery pack voltage was going to be, and did you order controller set up for your tire diameter and motor size and pack voltage?

Re: Cart build
I amgoing to keep 36 volts for now but do want to upgrade to 48 at a later date. but I didnt want to buy things twice so I bought everything to work with 48 volts I thought it was because of the 36 volt pack but just seeing if I could have a diffrent problem. thanks for the info I much rather the smooth operation of this solid state conversion than the old system.

Re: Cart build
There is no comparison from resistors to solid state controls, its like a model A and a race car.
If your staying with 36 volts I would monitor your motor and controller for excess heat build up at slower speeds. It really shouldnt be a problem with basically HD parts but you sure dont want to damage all those new wonderful parts? Having never run a set up like this at 36 volts before its better to be safe than sorry? Once you get your batterys broke in your speed should pick up some but nothing like you should get with 48 volts. |
