Will a 1" socket set screw work for this fix? I can't find any larger socket set screws. Any help appreciated.

Used the fix posted here, worked like a charm! Replaced all the battery cables with new 4 ga, cleaned all posts and connections, made sure everything was tight and sprayed corrosion inhibitor on all connections. Cables aren't heating up, even after hours of heavy use. This site is a wealth of information & help - thanks guys!

Can you post some pics. I can't find the double ended threaded 3/8" in stainless anywhere except on line. I want to see what you did. Thanks.

No worries, I'll do it when I get home tonight. I found it @ Home Depot in one of the fastener drawers - it's marked "Socket Set Screws" and they had sizes up to 1" long. I used 5/16" threads, but I'm pretty sure they had 3/8" too. Since I had to buy the tap & tap handle, lock-tite, etc., my total cost ended up closer to $20 - still way cheaper than a new battery & I can re-use all that stuff. I'll post the ugly "before" pics too.

Here's the before & after pics, hope it helps. You can definitely get the 1" inch long stainless 5/16" socket set screw at Home Depot. I just followed the instructions posted earlier in the thread. Good luck!
