Default Jet removal

I need to get the main jet out of my 02 txt to clean it but the last guy who did that over tightend the jet and he striped part of the head off. I try using a screw driver but no luck. Any ideas?

if you have a small cutting wheel for a dremel tool you could cut a good slot in it to try to get a better grip with a screw driver. make sure you have the best groove you can make the first time though. once you screw that up its kind of hard to recover. vise grips may work but your better off trying the slot. make sure to clean real good to get any shavings out.

The main jet is inside the tube between the float.

You may be able to bubble clean the carb and not have to remove it.

oh i see. well if it absolutely needs to be removed you could try drilling a hole in it that you could tap a small torx screwdriver in and try screwing it out.

Also, does the fuel filter have to be filled with fuel or does it only need to be 7 drops?
