Re: 1984 Marathon clutch help
So which clutch are you refering to? The one connected to the engine or the one connected to the rear axle? In addtion what exactly is happening or not happening?
Here is a short video of how the clutches should run as the engine speeds up In this case the engine (or drive) clutch is on the left which is the opposite of what you have but that doesn't matter. Put the cart on axle stands and get a friend to blip the throttle (don't torture the engine) and see if it looks like the video. Report back and we can get you fixed up Dave |

Re: 1984 Marathon clutch help
Dave
okay I got both clutches working motor running forward and reverse now I'm working on stopping the pads are worn out do you happen to know a part number or where I can get a set best deal. And going to order the 5 inch lift kit on eBay. And the shorter belt I know you've specified the belt part number before but if you happen to have it that would help and where to buy it. Thanks so much for your help you guys are awesome |

Re: 1984 Marathon clutch help
Welcome back Joansey,
Here is a pretty good price on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/Brake-Shoes-EZ-G...item4aa92927fc The belt that I use and recommend is the DAYCO HP 3004 just Google that part number and several supliers will pop up. Dave |

Re: 1984 Marathon clutch help
I'm running 22X11-8's on my 88 with a 5 inch lift and it works out perfectly, no rubbing, etc - PLUS with the bigger tires I'm running over 20mph on level ground thanks to the taller skins!
