Slow ezgo
Hey all, just registered my cart in a small neighboring town yesterday to be road legal. Was quick to realize that I need more power! I've got a 99txt with the 295 robins 5inch lift and 22 inch tires. I can hold 20 mph but if I have another riding with me or go up a hill it falls on it's face! Any ideas for getting more power on a budget? Have seen in buggies unlimited the power kits. How much do these work? Also read about a shorter belt? Any input is appreciated!

The power kit will help some, but BU is not a site sponsor here, get with the site sponsors and they can help you out as well. I am sure others will chime also. Good Luck

Re: Slow ezgo
It sounds to me like your motor may be a little tired. I would start with a valve adjustment. There is a step by step here;

Re: Slow ezgo
The shorter belt helps on hill climbs but decreases the top end speed.

I had some extra time the other night and adjusted the valves, and took the slack out of the accelerator cable, huge difference! Can't believe how quiet it runs and seems to have some more power! Any wear indicator though on the drive belt? Mine just kinda seems to be hangin there when it's not runnin, thinkin it should be alot tighter
