1994 Yamaha G9A-Ignition Coil Reading
I am trying to eliminate a electrical problem on an old gas golf cart. I took the ignition coil to Auto Zone and they tested the following readings but had no idea what would be correct.
Primary=5.1 ohms Secondary=18.54 ohms Are these readings good or bad. I am trying to replace one thing at a time. Thanks |

Re: 1994 Yamaha G9A-Ignition Coil Reading
I only have the G2 I think its the same
3.57-4.83 ohm Primary at 68F (orange-red/white) 11.2-15.2 K ohm Secondary (high tension code-red/white) The secondary is way off unless they read the meter wrong, then it might be ok depending on temps and the precision of the meter. A $5 digital meter at harbor freight should give you an idea if this stuff is bad or not, can check battery voltage and stuff too, pretty handy to have around. |

Try the jumper cables and add some grounds, thats what ended all my phantom electrical issues. |
