1990 club car NO REVERSE ?
1990 club car 36 volt. Goes forward fine but no reverse.....??
any ideas ??? |

Welcome to BGW. Can you tell us if your 90 CC is a Resistor Coils or Electronic Speed Controller cart?

Resistor coil carts had 2 separate Positive power supplies for forward & reverse. both cables came into the F&R at the bottom. Originally red for forward went to battery under the passenger seat and green cable for reverse went to battery #3 in the middle of the pack for 1/2 power reverse. Can you check theses cable connections? If they are good then it could be a simple Reverse micro switch at the F&R. Can you check the Micro switch for continuity?

welcome, take a look at the cables to make sure one didn,t come off right at the F&R switch, i have seen that happen many times from the shifting of forward to reverse...........did it happen all of a sudden like?.....................

ScottyB were U talking the anti arching micro on the F/R switch this can cause it ?

I cleaned the mico switch on the F&R and it started working.
I was using it this morning when i heard a sizziling noise and now it is doing the same thing Forward fine but No Reverse ??? |

The Sizzling noise is very very bad.
The sizzling noise is from amperage arcing across the F&R contacts.... This is my bet if all cables have been checked for clean and tight connections |

it might be time to buy yourself a new F&R switch it should come with micros if there are any and if not grab a few of those also they are pretty cheap........................
