Default 1999 TXT FNR Problem

I just purchase a 1999 TXT series with six new Trojan T-605's. It runs great but have a hard time moving the FNR gear back and forth. Is there anything that I can adjust, or change, to loosen it up. I got the cart for my wife and she can barely move the handle. My wrist aches everytime I move it. This is my first time experience with an electric. I have a 1988 G1 gas. I installed a 4inch lift kit by All Sports with 20x10x8 tires. I love it...except for the fumes!

They tend to wear the contacts and Pivot shaft down over time. You would be surprised how easily a new can be made to operate.

Thanks for the feedback. Losening the screw on the FNR handle didn't work. I think the problem is the pivot arm that attaches to the control box. I'm not sure what to do.

The Ezgo F&R switches can be hard to operate to begin with, add all that linkage and another pivot arm and some dry worn contacts and you have an arm wrestling contest each time you want to shift. You can try backing the pivot nut off 1/2 turn maximum on the F&R switch under the passenger seat. Most of the time I just replace the switch with a new one. Properly adjusted and lubed it is much easier to operate.

Scotty, I loosen the back nut, but to no avail. I've decided to replace the FNR handle with some sort of extended handle for better leverage. My neighbor has a work shop and we will come up with something. Will let you know how it works out with pictures I hope.

I fixed problem by removing the FNR cam, cleaning and sanding contacts, and then adding a small amount of dialectric grease to the contacts and cam shaft. FNR handle now turns w/o effort.
