Default What is this?????????

Is this an axle vent tube or a fill tube? Also, since it has been open (see below) for an unknown amount of time, do I need to replace the axle fluid?

Thumbs up Re: What is this?????????

Looks like they extended the vent so they could use it as a fill tube also. Looks like the tube has come off and yes change that rear dopping as soon as possible. I would say water has gotten inside if you have been in a creek or any kind of water.

electric carts use 30 wgt. i believe about 10 oz. that is just a vent. you will need to drop the pan, clean it up with brake fluid. then put some rtv sealant around the edges and pour in 10 oz of 30 wgt and carefully replace it. gorno did a write up on this not to long back.
