radio problems
i have a 96 ezgo 36 volt. I am trying to hook my lights and radio up to a single 12 volt battery. when i connected the radio to the 12 volt battery i heard a loud pop. the lights or radio worked and no power to the cart. So i hooked it back up to the 2 6 volts batteries and got power back to the cart and lights but no radio > help

Re: radio problems
did you hook up to one of the 12 volt batteries on the cart or one by itself? if you hooked it up to one of the 12v batteries you got 36v to the radio, which would blow the internal fuse in the radio

Re: radio problems
sporty i took where the radio was hooked up to the two 6 volt batteries 1 was hooked to a negative on one 6 volt and the other a positive on another 6 volt. Then i hooked those to the negative and positive of the 12 volt. Is this the way to do it. thanks

Re: radio problems
is the 12v battery in series with the golf cart batteries? or is it a stand alone battery?

Re: radio problems
check the fuses, you should have an inline fuse and a fuse in the rear of the radio where the cables connect. black to negative....yellow 12v constant(memory)..red 12v switched.....do not ground to the frame of the cart.

Re: radio problems
It is a stand alone battery and i think i might have had the tow switch on when i tried to hook them up. Would this make it blow a fuse when hooking up to the stand alone battery?
