Default Engine wont crank unless i jump across the solonoid

JUST AQUIRED ME A '87 GAS CLUB CAR , HOPEING SOMEONE CAN GIVE ME A LITTLE GUIDANCE FIGURING OUT WHY IT WONT START,
ill give you all i know about the cart, it did run, the prev. owner actually jump started it with a 24v system and burnt the starter up, after replaceing starter i was successful to get it to start 1 time jumping acrossthe solonoid
but died and now has no spark, plus dont know why i have to jump across solonoid HOW DO I TEST THE SOLONOID AND MICRO SWITCHES ?

Testing the solenoid is simple. When your key is on and your direction selector is on forward, press the gas pedal. You should hear a decent click. No click means a bad limit switch, solenoid, fuse, or wire. The fuse and the wiring are both quick checks. To check your switches, put a continuity tester on each terminal and test when the switch is off and when it is pressed. An ohmmeter will suffice if you do not have a continuity tester. Set it on 200 ohms and test. Anything below 1 ohm means continuity. Most of the time those don't go bad though. I have almost 80 carts over 10 years old and have seen one replaced. Most likely it is your solenoid.
