Default 93 Club Car Gas (Draining Battery)

I have a 1993 Club Car gas that I purchased this spring to drive around the neighborhood with the kids and so forth. It has a stereo, headlights, taillights and a horn for extras. I have used it quite a bit with no problems and then I would stop for a bit and have no power. After I push the Golf Cart home, I would hook up my trickle charger to the battery and let it sit for a day or so until the trickle charger reads fully charged. I would use it again for a few weeks or so and it would happen again. After about 6 or 7 times, I decided to purchase a new battery. I purchased the same battery which is a Bomgaars 70-5 Automotive Battery with roughly 530 CCA, etc. I installed it and charged it as it was not charged when I got it home. We went on two more rides and now it is dead again. Any ideas? Does a golf cart have an alternator like a car? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Ben

It has a starter/generator. It sounds like the generator is not recharging your battery. Check the stickys at the top of the Gas Club Car section, and there are wiring diagrams there.
Also here is a site that has the manual for your cart and it should have the test procedure for the charging system. http://bennettgolfcars.ca/club_car_i...ts_manuals.php
One fairly common cause of no charging is a bad voltage regulator.

if your sure your dealing with a good battery then 1st i would think voltage regulator went bad before S/G ......that year they are famus for the VR,s crapping out on the other hand not so much for S/G..................................
