New 2 me G9 (I Think)Speed Mods And Questions

I am new to this entire thing but I would like to thank everyone for there posts. The info on this site has been great. I bought a golf cart from someone and I have been going through everything and want to eventually turn in into a really nice cart. For starters I have been looking into how to make it faster and I have read a whole lot of post regaurding the govener and rpm limiter. I found out that the limiter was disconnected and I have been trying to adjust the govenor. It is a very fine adjustment but was able to increase the speed from 12mph gps to 16 mph gps and that is perfect for me right now without any costly mods that I will do later however now when it goes up any hill it slows down to about 6-10 mph gps but before I adjusted the govenor with the stock settings on the govenor it was consistant all the way. Any Idea why and how to fix it. Also total Newb question but does my cart have an altenator and if so where is it.

OK I am a total idiot i just googled A G9 club car LOL!!!! and found out that a G9 is a yamaha cart. Well I'm not sure what model cart I have there are no more model and serial stickers but there was one on the steering wheel collum that had a number on it that started with a AG9 and thats about it so I just figured. I know the engine is a 4 stroke that says club car on it and it is 2008.

A G9 will have the serial number on the frame member, just forward of the airbox, should be an aluminum plate and start with JG5-000000.

That looks to be a Club Car, not a yamaha.

I found a post about my altenator question and yes my cart has a voltage regulator and it is putting out 14.3-14.7 vdc so it is working I guess I dont need the battery charger I installed LOL!!!!!
