Voltage Regulators
Building a 2008.5 Precedent. I've purchased a basic light kit with harness and a 48-12 voltage reducer (30 amp).
So, where do i install the reducer? I went large on the reducer to allow for a stereo at some point, or any other accessory. In the battery box? Under the dash (won't it get too hot?), or maybe under cart somewhere? Looking for ideas! Thank you! Mark |

Re: Voltage Regulators
Mine is screwed to the frame just above and forward of the drivers side rear wheel. I have a cheap regulator and wanted where heat would not be a factor.

Re: Voltage Regulators
I have a 2007 Precedent with 4 12v batteries and I was able to install the 30 amp voltage reducer between the batteries under the controller and module cover. It was a tight fit but it worked.

Re: Voltage Regulators
I took a piece of 1/8" aluminum ,mounted power supply to it, and bolted the aluminum to the cross frame just back of the battery box area. I drive slow through water puddles. My power supply is not sealed.

Ended up putting under cart behind passenger wheel well. Seems to have worked very well.

Re: Voltage Regulators
I know its already mounted but it seems like the tire would throw a lot of dirt/mud/water on the reducer there

It's sealed pretty well, but you are right. It will get really dirty. Will have to watch it.
