Precedent 04-08 versus 2009 newer dash ??

I have a Precedent and would like to order an aftermarket dash. Unfortunately I don't have an ID plate for me to determine the year. What are the features that I should look for on my cart to tell me if its a 04-08 or 2009 or newer? I don't want to order the wrong dash.

Remove the four torx bolts that hold the floor mat down and remove the floor mat and then remove the plastic cover behind the brake pedal. After removing the cover you can look under the f/r switch on top of the frame for the secondary VIN. The third and fourth digit will be the year. Example PQ07 would be a 2007. If the third and fourth digits are 04 it is a 2004.

Oh well there is a tattered bar code with some numbers but the 4th number looks like a 0 although Precedents weren't built till 2004. Its barely visible and part of the bar code is torn away. This was located under the brake adjustment plastic cover and just to the left of the brake pad on the frame. I didn't see one near the F/R switch.

The secondary vin should be on the frame right under the forward / reverse switch on the aluminum frame rail below the seat at the bottom of the body. With the floor mat removed and the plastic cover pulled up exposing the brake cables it should be visible toward the rear under the switch. Hope this helps you.

Found it! The serial number was pristine but under a layer of dust and dirt. Had you not told me where to look I would've never found it. Once I started rubbing my finger around on the frame rail I uncovered part of it and used a brush to uncover the rest.

Turns out my cart is an 2007 and not a 2009 as I was told by the refurbisher/custom cart guy that I purchased it from. At any rate I got a good deal and I like the way it looks and runs.
